Wag N' Whirl
Personal Project - Design Competition - 2017
I saw a design competition for a new dog toy while reading a Fast Company magazine. Being the owner of a busy Jack Russell Mix I knew I could come up with something innovative, interesting for the busy pup, and safe in materials.
This piece consists of a silicone top and a HDPE base. Both materials are non toxic when they come in contact with heat, an important factor when it comes to a toy that will be left outside, in the car, as well as regular tooth abrasion.
I wanted to create a puzzle design that wasn't too easy, but wasn't impossible. In my experience with dogs, you need to find a toy that has a happy medium if they are working for the treat.
I also designed the packaging with an effort to have as little plastic waste as possible.
